Therapeutic massage care designed to support muscle tension, stress, soreness, injury recovery, and whole-body relaxation.
Massage therapy is the hands-on treatment of the body's soft tissues — muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. A registered massage therapist (RMT) uses a range of techniques to ease tension, reduce soreness and support recovery from injury, as well as for stress relief and relaxation.
Every treatment starts with a conversation about what you are feeling and what you would like from the session. Your RMT then adapts pressure, technique and focus areas to suit you, and may suggest stretches or self-care to continue between visits.
In British Columbia, registered massage therapists complete a multi-year diploma program and are regulated by the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC. Many extended health plans include coverage for treatment by an RMT.
Relaxation (Swedish) massage
Long, flowing strokes and kneading to ease general tension and help you relax.
Deep tissue techniques
Slower, firmer pressure aimed at deeper layers of muscle, adjusted to what feels right for you.
Trigger point work
Sustained pressure on tight, tender spots in a muscle that may refer discomfort to other areas.
Myofascial release
Gentle, sustained stretching of the connective tissue around muscles to help tissues glide and move.
Stretching and home care
Assisted stretches during treatment, and simple suggestions to support you between visits.
Massage Therapy may support a range of concerns. Your practitioner will assess your needs and recommend an appropriate plan.
Discuss your goals
Your RMT reviews your health history and asks what is bothering you, where you feel it, and what you would like the session to focus on.
Treatment plan
Together you agree on the areas to treat, the techniques, and a pressure level you are comfortable with.
Hands-on massage therapy
You are draped with sheets throughout. Speak up at any point if you would like the pressure or position changed.
Aftercare recommendations
Your RMT may suggest stretches, heat, or a follow-up schedule based on how you responded.
Because our physiotherapists, RMTs, and a kinesiologist work under one roof, your massage care can be coordinated with other treatments when helpful — so your recovery feels more connected and complete.
