Gentle, supportive massage designed for expecting mothers, with positioning and treatment adapted for comfort during pregnancy.
Pregnancy (prenatal) massage is massage therapy adapted for the changes your body goes through during pregnancy. A registered massage therapist adjusts positioning, pressure and focus areas to help ease common aches such as low back, hip and neck tension, and to give you time to rest.
As pregnancy progresses, lying flat on your back or on your stomach becomes uncomfortable and is generally avoided. Treatment is usually done side-lying, with pillows supporting your belly, back and knees, or semi-reclined, so you stay comfortable throughout.
Massage can also continue after your baby arrives, to help with the neck, shoulder and back strain that often comes with feeding and carrying a newborn.
Side-lying massage
Supported side-lying positioning with pillows, so you can be treated comfortably as your bump grows.
Gentle relaxation techniques
Smooth, relaxing strokes to ease general muscle tension.
Low back and hip work
Focused, comfortable work on areas that often carry extra load during pregnancy.
Lighter leg techniques
Gentle work for heavy, tired legs. Deep pressure on the legs is avoided during pregnancy.
Postpartum massage
Treatment after birth for the neck, shoulders and back.
Pregnancy Massage may support a range of concerns. Your practitioner will assess your needs and recommend an appropriate plan.
